Two new state of the art Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute Pediatric Catheterization Labs and support spaces encompass 4,400 SF of renovated area situated within the Carolina’s Medical Center’s Levine Children’s Hospital. The program included one general interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab and one Cardiac Electrophysiology Cath Lab, Control Rooms for each, Equipment Storage, Clean and Soiled Utility Rooms. The Physicians worked closely with the design team and equipment vendors to customize many of the Control Room monitoring features. Monitors in the Control Room are wall mounted on articulating arms so that less equipment in on the work surfaces. Another exciting feature of the design is the green lighting utilized during procedures. It definitely gives the room a certain glow. This renovation brings stream line design and the latest in technology to aid in treating the smallest of patients with heart disease. Families of many of the children who receive treatment are provided newly renovated Sleep Rooms located in proximity to the floors waiting area, as well.
